Iran Reveals Underground Drone Factory as Military Chief Warns of Readiness for Renewed War

Iranian state television has released footage purportedly showing an underground drone production facility, as Tehran signals it is strengthening its military capabilities amid growing fears of renewed conflict with the United States.

The footage, broadcast on October 22, showed Iranian Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Amir Hatami touring the facility, where military drones were displayed alongside production infrastructure.

Hatami said Iran was expanding its production centers, supported by infrastructure and domestic scientific expertise. He also claimed the country’s armed forces had made significant advances in drone technology and were prepared for different types of warfare.

The facility appears to underscore Iran’s effort to protect its weapons production from potential airstrikes by moving critical manufacturing operations underground. However, Reuters could not independently verify when or where the footage was filmed.

The disclosure comes amid rising tensions between Tehran and Washington, with concerns that renewed US military action could target Iran’s remaining missile and drone capabilities.

Iran has not independently verified the facility’s production capacity or the full extent of its current drone arsenal.
