IRAN WARNS U.S. OF POSSIBLE DIRECT STRIKE ON ISRAEL AMID REPORTED LEBANON STANDOFF
Iran has reportedly issued a fresh warning to the United States through Omani mediators, threatening a direct military response against Israel if Israeli forces storm the Ali al-Taher ridge in southern Lebanon.
According to the reports, Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah personnel were allegedly present in the area when Israeli forces moved to surround the ridge. Israeli military sources reportedly believe the site contains a strategic underground command center and weapons storage facility.
The reports further claim that Israel has imposed a siege rather than launching a direct airstrike, while attempting to block drone deliveries of food, water and other supplies to personnel inside the area.
