ITEZHI TEZHI MP WELCOMES REALIGNMENT OF ITEZHI TEZHI TO SOUTHERN PROVINCE

Itezhi Tezhi Member of Parliament Twaambo Mutinta has welcomed the intention by President Hakainde Hichilema to realign Itezhi Tezhi back to Southern Province.

In a press statement issued by the office of the President, Itezhi Tezhi and other districts are intended to be realigned back to their initial Provinces.

Itezhi Tezhi Member of Parliament says the his office has been doing consultations in the last one month with various stakeholders on the matter, key among the stakeholders was the traditional leadership who unanimously resolved to be re-aligned back to Southern province .

Hon Mutinta disclosed that the decision to take itezhi Tezhi by Patriotic Front to central province was politically motivated and there was no adequate consultation with stakeholders .

And commenting on concerns raised by people on the poor road network which poses a challenge with movement to Choma , the MP says he is optimistic that government will put in place measures to address the road network challenges.

Apart from the Itezhi Tezhi to Namwala pooton road . There is now an alternative road Itezhi Tezhi – Dundumwezi to Kalomo road which connect the district to the Southern region all seasons.

Meanwhile, Itezhi Tezhi Member of Parliament says the realignment will not only reconnect culture ties but will also make it easy for government departments to easily access the central administration office , boost the economic ties and easy business and transaction costs for farmers and business players in the tourism sector which were hampered by the distance to Kabwe
