IT’S NOT HOW MANY FOREIGN TRIPS THAT PRESIDENT HAKAINDE HICHILEMA MAKES THAT MATTERS, BUT THE SUBSTANCE, RELEVANCE AND POTENTIAL BENEFITS OF THE TRIPS.

It is now becoming extremely worrying and overly retrogressive that some opposition leaders have decided to politicize the international trips being made by the republican President Mr Hakainde Hichilema.
It’s also becoming extremely worrying that the presidency and the Government spokesperson have lamentably failed and have continued to remain mute and overly blank in offering correct information and data relating to the President’s foreign trips.
The leaders in opposition are expected to exercise some levels of political maturity and responsibility and ensure that accurate and factual information and data is given to the Zambian electorates than exaggerating matters for political expediency.
Before these leaders blindly criticize these trips, please let them work out and provide the Cost Benefits Analysis – CBA of all the presidential trips, for the Zambians to ascertain and appreciate whether these trips are beneficial or just a waste of time and resources.
Just counting the number of these international trips (input) without mentioning the intended benefits or opportunities (output) is of little importance and of no help to an ordinary Zambian.
President Hakainde Hichilema has been employed by the Zambians, with a performance target – a developmental target to meet and the performance timeline in which to achieve that target.
Or he risks being FIRED by his employers, the Zambians, if he fails to perform by meeting the developmental targets within the given timeline.
So the opposition leaders should not behave like an organization that has employed a Sales Manager and then restricts that person to the office but expecting results.
Give that Sales Manager the leeway, enough room, time and resources to perform.
