Kaoma man poisons pregnant teen girlfriend
A SIXTEEN-year old Grade nine pupil in Kaoma district of Western Province has died of poisoning administered to her by the boyfriend after falling pregnant.
After discovering that she had a month-old pregnancy, her boyfriend who is yet to identified gave a substance to drink in order to abort.
However, Instead of terminating her pregnancy, the substance induced severe stomach pains to the girl who was later taken to Kaoma District Hospital.
While at hospital, the girl revealed to her aunt that her boyfriend had given her a substance to drink last Thursday to terminate her pregnancy.
She died moments later.
Meanwhile, Kaoma district health director, Dr Idi Mwinyi disclosed that the postmortem results showed that the girl died of poison used to spray in gardens.
Dr Mwinyi said the hospital staff tried everything possible to save her life but to no avail.
Police are yet to make any arrest, as they await official postmortem results from the hospital.
