A 33-year-old man in Kawambwa District has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree.
Police sources in Kawambwa confirmed the incident to ZANIS on Wednesday and named the deceased as Misheck Kaunda of Mayoyo Village in Senior Chief Mushota’s area.
Mr. Kaunda hanged himself to a tree using a fibre rope on February 25, 2022 but his body was discovered on Saturday March 5, 2022 in a decomposed state.
Police said according to the suicide note found with him, Kaunda is alleged to have taken his life over the unsettled loan he obtained from a local Village Banking Institution.
The deceased is said to have told the wife that he had gone to the farm but never returned home until his body was discovered in the bush one kilometer away from the village.
According to the Police in Kawambwa, the body was buried the same day as there was no suspected foul play.
