Ke Huy Quan Breaks Down In Tears During Oscars Award Speech
It was an emotional night for Vietnamese-American actor, Ke Huy Quan, who clinched the Best Supporting Actor Award in the 2023 Oscars.
In his emotional speech, the actor hailed his 84-year-old mum, as he tearfully told the story of how his journey started on a boat before he moved to a refugee camp.
He said, “My mum is 84 years old and she’s watching me right now. Mum, I just won an Oscar!
“My journey started on a boat. I spent a year in a refugee camp, and somehow, I ended up here on Hollywood’s biggest stage.
“They say stories like this only happen in the movies. I cannot believe this is happening to me. This is the American dream!”
Quan won the award for his role in ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’.
