KENYAN MOTHER ARRESTED FOR STOPPING DAUGHTER FROM WRITING EXAMS OVER ‘SATANIC’ NUMBER 666
A Kenyan woman has been arrested after allegedly locking her daughter inside their home to prevent her from sitting national examinations because her examination number contained the digits 666, which she believes are associated with the devil.
The bizarre incident occurred on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, in Jomvu, Mombasa County, Kenya.
The Grade Six pupil was scheduled to sit her Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) when her mother reportedly refused to allow her to attend school, insisting that the number 666 was satanic and contrary to her Christian beliefs.
The mother, who described herself as a God-fearing woman and preacher, maintained that she could not allow her daughter to use a number she associated with the biblical mark of the beast.
School authorities became concerned when the pupil failed to report for her examination and alerted the authorities.
Police officers, accompanied by children’s officers, visited the family home and rescued the girl, who was subsequently escorted to school and allowed to sit her examination.
The mother was arrested and detained as authorities investigated possible violations of the child’s right to education.
