Kim Jong Un Says New Destroyer Will Join Nuclear Response System
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un attended the commissioning of a new destroyer on the country’s east coast, state media KCNA reported Monday.
Kim said the warship will be integrated into North Korea’s nuclear response system and will be capable of carrying out “devastating retaliatory strikes” on command.
The announcement comes as Pyongyang continues to expand and modernize its naval forces, seeking to give its fleet a greater role in the country’s military and nuclear strategy.
