Local Authorities In Western Province Make Bold Move To Engage Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) Over Land Boundaries Issue

LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN WESTERN PROVINCE MAKE BOLD MOVE TO ENGAGE BAROTSE ROYAL ESTABLISHMENT (BRE) OVER LAND BOUNDARIES ISSUE

The Western Chapter of the Local Government Association of Zambia (LGAZ) held its last quarter meeting in Sesheke on Tuesday.

The Mongu Mayor, his worship Nyambe Muyumbana, all Council Chairpersons from Western Province except for Sikongo, and the principal officers were in attendance.

The meeting focused on the importance of collaboration and addressing issues that affect the districts in the province.

As a result, a 10-member committee was formed to engage the Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) on the issue of state and traditional land boundaries.

This action highlights the efforts of local authorities to work with traditional leaders and institutions to find solutions to important issues facing their communities.
