ECL CONTINUES TO MEET OPPOSITION LEADERS
Sixth Republican President Edgar Lungu in his continued quest to galvanize the opposition, says he will continue to meet political leaders in order to present a united front ahead of the 2026 elections.
In a message released by his office today, Lungu says dialogue, collaboration and teamwork among opposition leaders are vital in the build up to the upcoming by-elections in Pambashe, Petauke and beyond.
Today, President Lungu met with FDD President Edith Nawakwi and Citizens First President Harry Kalaba.
Kalaba, who was earlier visiting incarcerated former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo and GBM at Mwembeshi Prison, posted on his page that he, Nawakwi and President Lungu discuss “pertinent national matters.”
This is the second time Lungu is meeting Kalaba in the last few days as anxiety builds among several opposition players to rally behind one candidate in the 2026 elections.

Posing for pictures?!!
You are smiling now, but one day in detention ati badwala. I hope you are not creating troubles for yourselves and the nation. Plan B can be there but if it’s meant to destabilize our peaceful country, God will not allow it and it will surely fail.
This is a desperate, politically drowning man. He will grab at anything, even those things or people who can not save him.
Someone should advise him that his political career expired in 2021.
Thieves planning to strategize how to use the stolen loot effectively.
I once had hopes for kalaba. Now his willing to eat his vomit. Same man he called corrupt, lelo ma bestie.
My president elect kalaba, what are you doing with these known thieves and thugs.
If you want to be president after HH, then never associate yourself with these two…….PLEASE STAY AWAY……or you will NEVER be elected
Theirs are just plans for personal survival not the interests of the citizens. They have shown their true colours & to think they will come out any different is utter madness. We want a united Zambia where everyone citizen has equal opportunities & the current regime is striving to achieve that.
