PF GENERAL CONFERENCE UPDATE;

MAKEBI ZULU, CHISHIMBA KAMBWILI & GIVEN LUBINDA OFF COMPETE FOR PF PRESIDENCY IN 30DAYS

Less than 30 days, the Patriotic Front will have a leadera as it holds its anticipated and long awaited elective General Conference.

The political contest has finally drawn Lusaka lawyer, Makebi Zulu, former Minister of Information, Chishimba Kambwili and current Acting President, Given Lubinda for the Patriotic Front delegates to choose from.

Acting Secretary General, Celestine Mukandila has confirmed that final details for the process to elect a PF President are almost completed.

The race is expected to draw about 1,200 delegates from the PF party structures across the cross and will be held as a hybrid (in-person and virtual).

The meeting will be held in February.
The Party has stated that the business of the General Conference is just like any business the organisation has been involved such as holding Central Committee and making appointments and dismissals and will be impeded by anything else.

Other candidates; Mporokoso MP, Brian Mundubile and Lunte MP, Mutotwe Kafwaya have gone to a break-away Tonse Alliance.

Joseph Willa Mudolo and Amb. Emmanuel Mwamba are outside the country and may not participate.

Former Minister of Health Dr. Chitalu Chilufya, who has taken his campaign to grassroot structures, voted for Bill 7 and is therefore not in good standing with the Party.

Luapula MP, and Lusaka businessman Eng. Chanda Katotobwe is the dark horse in the race with quiet influence among structures .

Other candidates in the race are former Minister of Livestock, Greyford Monde and Matero MP, Miles Sampa.

Former Defence Minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba and Lusaka businessman, Goodward Mulubwa have fallen out of the race for personal reasons.

About 12 candidates paid the sum of K200,000,00.

The Patriotic Front is holding its General Conference in February 2026.
