MAN COLLAPSES AND DIES WHILE ON DEBT COLLECTION MISSION
A 52-year-old man in Katete has died while seeking help to get home after complaining of chest congestion as he pursued debt collection.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Robertson Mweemba says Adamson Banda of Chibolya Compound was found unconscious on the veranda of a house belonging to Betty Phiri , in Ibex Compound around 18:00 hours yesterday.
Mr Mweemba says Banda had asked Betty Phiri a woman he had no any form of a relationship with to look for a motorbike to take him home, but she later found him unconscious when she returned and unfortunately died with foam coming from his mouth and nose.
Mr Mweemba said Banda had earlier left home to follow up on debts owed to him and later spent time with a friend at Miti Bar before leaving around 15:00 hours.
His body has been deposited at St Francis Hospital mortuary, pending a post-mortem to establish the cause of death.
