MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CAUSING DEATH OF KABWATA MP
A Man of Lusaka Jetta Kalengo has admitted causing the death UPND’s Kabwata Member of Parliament Levy Mkandawire in a road traffic accident.
In this matter, Mr. Kalengo is facing one count of causing death by dangerous driving.
It is alleged that on November 18, 2021 Mr. Kalengo while driving his (BMW) vehicle lost control and hit into a stationary Toyota whose driver, the deceased had disembarked with a view of opening the gate at his residence.
Due to the impact, it was forced to move forward thereby squeezing the deceased against the wall fence and the wall pillar of the gate subsequently fell on him.
The Lusaka High Court has since set June 13, 2022 as the date for facts and sentencing.
