MOAZ WRITES TO CJ, DEMANDS EQUITABLE COVERAGE OF LUNGU’S ELIGIBILITY CASE
MEDIA Owners Association of Zambia (MOAZ) has written to Chief Justice Mumba Malila, calling for equitable media access to broadcasting live court proceedings as judgement is passed in former president Edgar Lungu’s eligibility case.
On Monday, ZNBC disclosed that it would on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, broadcast live Constitutional Court proceedings. But in a statement, Tuesday, MOAZ president Costa Mwansa said as much as the move to allow live broadcasting of court proceedings was welcome, it needed to extend to registered private media houses to ensure the public receives balanced and diverse coverage from various perspectives.

No it’s not. There’s only so much room in court.
Zambians have this entitlement attitude. We dont even have journalists who cover or understand the “court beat” and with one event people want it to become a stampede.
