MEDVEDEV DECLARES HIMSELF THE WEST’S LAST REMAINING SOURCE OF TRUTH
Dmitry Medvedev says he remains on X because someone must tell “the truth” to the people of Europe and the wider Western world—even if they receive it only in limited doses
This comes from the same man whose online contribution to international diplomacy largely consists of nuclear threats, drunken-sounding tirades and predictions that every country refusing to obey Moscow is about to collapse.
There was a time when Medvedev’s threats sounded serious. He had been Russia’s president, remained close to the Kremlin and spoke with the authority of a nuclear state. But after years of promised apocalypses that never arrived, the world knows the truth: the threats are repeated because fear is one of the few weapons Moscow can still deploy without running out.
If Medvedev is responsible for delivering the truth, X’s Community Notes department deserves hazard pay.
Still, we should thank him the next time he appears in the news—not for enlightening the West, but for demonstrating how far Kremlin propaganda has deteriorated. Russia’s court jester has spent so long performing for the throne that he now believes he is the royal historian.
