CHIFUNABULI – Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Peter Kapala, has hailed President Hakainde Hichilema for making history as the first sitting President to attend the Ukwanga Traditional Ceremony of the Ng’umbo people in Chifunabuli District.
Kapala described the President’s presence at the ceremony as a significant political gesture, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to inclusivity and unity across all regions of the country.
The Minister said President Hichilema’s attendance marks a departure from previous governments, which often neglected such important cultural events, and highlights the UPND government’s respect for Zambia’s diverse traditions.
Kapala also praised the President for spearheading development projects in Chifunabuli specifically pointing to the construction of a modern filling station as a sign of progress under the UPND’s leadership.
He noted that such developments reflect the government’s focus on rural development and are a clear contrast to the stagnation experienced under previous administrations.
The Minister further commended the increase in Constituency Development Funds (CDF), saying it is transforming rural communities by giving them the resources to drive their own development.
Kapala urged the people of Luapula Province to rally behind President Hichilema’s leadership and vision, warning against being misled by critics who were part of past governments that failed to deliver.
He concluded by calling on all Zambians to unite behind the President, emphasizing that the UPND’s development agenda is steering the country toward lasting prosperity.
