A concerned leader M’membe holds meeting with Russian Ambassador
Socialist Party president Dr. Fred M’membe has held talks with Russian Ambassador to Zambia, Azim Yarakhmedov to understand the ongoing Conflict between the Russia and Ukraine.
Among the key issues discussed include the need to end the war and foster world peace.
Ambassodar Yarakhmedov is of the view that the national Security Council should focus on resolving the security concerns raised than imposing sanctions which cannot end the war.
He clarifies that Russia is not interested to get a piece of Ukraine but is only trying secure its people in that country.
The Ambassodar has since indicated his country’s willingness to help the Zambian government to evacuate its citizens safely back home.
And Dr. M’membe has emphasized the urgent need to end the war between the two countries and allow diplomatic dialogue that can promote world peace.
He notes with concern the devastating effects of war on the poor, women and workers coupled with its ripple effects on most economies across the globe.
