MMUSI MAIMANE CALLS FOR SOUTH AFRICA TO REDUCE ITS NINE PROVINCES, ARGUING THAT THE CURRENT SYSTEM MAKES GOVERNMENT MORE COMPLICATED AND COSTLY TO ADMINISTER!

Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane believes South Africa should reconsider its provincial structure and reduce the number of provinces.

South Africa currently has nine provinces, each with its own government, legislature and administration. Maimane argues that the current arrangement creates unnecessary administrative complexity and that a smaller number of provinces could make government simpler and more efficient.

However, changing the provincial system would be a major decision, affecting government structures, public services, budgets and political representation. It would require careful consideration of how such a reform could work in practice.

🗣️ SOUTH AFRICA, WHAT DO YOU THINK? Should the country keep all nine provinces, or reduce their number to simplify government?
