MOHSEN REZAEI: “IF IRAN HAD NOT RESISTED, ISRAEL WOULD HAVE ATTACKED ARAB COUNTRIES”

Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, argued that Iran’s military resistance prevented Israel, with U.S. support, from expanding attacks across the region.

Addressing Arab officials, Rezaei said:

«“If Iran had not resisted and had been forced to surrender, would Israel not be attacking Saudi Arabia today? Would Israel not have advanced toward Damascus? Would Israel not have attacked Iraq?”»

Rezaei further claimed that if the United States and Israel had achieved what he described as a victory in Iran, “there would have been no one in the region capable of standing against them.”

He argued that Israel would subsequently have attacked Arab countries with U.S. backing.

«“We resisted, yes, and we defended our own country, but our defense also benefited the Arab countries,” Rezaei said.»

The comments reflect Tehran’s broader argument that Iran’s confrontation with Israel and the United States has consequences extending beyond Iran’s borders.
