The High Court sitting in Mazabuka has
sentenced a 27 year old man of Monze to 30 years imprisonment for stabbing to death a Monze based Police officer.
Byta FM Court Journalist reports that this is in a matter were Shadreck Chuulu was charged with manslaughter for causing the death of Aaron Silwamba contrary to Section 199 of the penal code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offence are that on 24th April 2021, did cause the death of Aaron Silwimba.
Facts before the court were that Shadreck Chuulu and the deceased Aaron Silwamba went out on a drinking spree at around 19:00 hours at a pub in Monze and in the early hours of the 25th April, 2021, the accused person and the deceased left the bar at different times but whilst walking towards to thier homes in the same direction.
The court records reveal that the deceased person asked the accused why he was constantly following him but Chuulu did not respond.
Silwamba then insulted Chuulu who later got upset and pulled out a knife which he had in his pockets and stabbed the deceased to death.
In delivering judgement, Judge Willy Sinyangwe of Livingstone High Court sitting in the Mazabuka High Court slapped Chuulu with a 30 year imprisonment with hard labour.
