Mr. Hichilema And His Party Lack The Needed Moral Compass For Arresting GBM Today.

Lusaka – 9th June, 2022.

Mr. Hichilema is by no means the only senior politician who has mislaid his moral compass but of great interest is his level of desperation because arresting GBM is not necessary. His advisors lack the ability to judge what is politically right and wrong in order for him to act as a statesman.

Truth is not a mathematical concept that needs to be proved with equations. Its singleness demands an intact moral compass, with certainties about what is good and bad. Mr. Hichilema knew about the cases GBM is facing today way back when he left the Patriotic Front and welcomed him into the UPND, making him the vice president of the party. It’s clear that at that time Mr. Hichilema had no interest in whatever GBM was accused of. His sight was fixed on the presidency, and at any cost.

A man might desire something for a moment, while a larger part of him rejects it. You’ll need to learn to judge people by their actions, not their thoughts. So of great interest to us as a nation should be asking President Hakainde Hichilema why he accepted GBM to take dirty money to the UPND. If anything, Mr. Hichilema and his party must be made to refund the people of Zambia should GBM be found guilty because they were the biggest beneficiary of the money he made during his short tenure as Minister of Defence.

The arrest of GBM is a last nail in Mr. Hichilema’s political coffin. When did he know that GBM is corrupt? Was it when he was told he would fund the Patriotic Front convention? A sense of shame is not a bad moral compass.
