As Zambia celebrates 60 years of independence, Mukobela, an aspirant under the UPND Matero Constituency ticket, has ramped up his grassroots engagement in support of President Hakainde Hichilema’s re-election bid. In a spirited show of solidarity, Mukobela distributed 100 UPND-branded chitenge materials to each ward in Matero, igniting enthusiasm among local party members as they unite behind the President’s leadership.
During his visit to the Exodus Boxing Academy at the historic Old Independence Stadium, Mukobela was greeted with jubilation by the boxers, who celebrated his commitment to uplifting the community. In a meaningful gesture, he donated K5,000 to the boxers, emphasizing the transformative role of sports in the lives of young people. “Sports are a powerful tool for development,” Mukobela told the athletes. “They instill discipline, build character, and teach resilience—qualities that will serve you well, both in the ring and in life.”
He further encouraged the boxers to remain dedicated to their craft, reminding them that their success not only elevates themselves but also inspires the broader Matero community. “You are the pride of Matero, and your hard work reflects our country’s progress. Your determination can inspire the next generation of champions. Keep fighting, and never lose sight of your goals.”
Mukobela also took the opportunity to highlight the critical role of the grassroots in securing a decisive victory for President Hichilema in the 2026 elections. “You are the backbone of this movement,” he said. “Together, we will ensure victory by showcasing the remarkable achievements of the New Dawn Government. The social cash transfer programme, the cash-for-work initiatives, and the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) have brought tangible benefits to our people. The government has also introduced student loans, giving more young Zambians access to higher education.”
Acknowledging the transformative impact of these initiatives, Mukobela urged the people of Matero to continue supporting President Hichilema’s leadership. He reassured the women in the constituency that more empowerment activities were on the horizon and called for unity in driving the President’s development agenda forward.
