MULUNGUSHI TEXTILES TO OPEN EARLY NEXT YEAR
MINISTER of Commerce, Trade and Industry Chipoka Mulenga says Mulungushi Textiles will be brought back to life in the first quarter of 2025, 17 years after it was shut.
Mulungushi Textiles is a joint venture between the Zambian government and China, with the former holding 34 percent shares and the latter 66 percent.
“The company is expected to create about 500 jobs and numerous business opportunities through economic linkages,” Mr Mulenga told Parliament yesterday in a ministerial statement on the status and progress of Zambia’s industrialisation development agenda.
He said the New Dawn government has made a priority to industrialise Zambia as a way of contributing to economic transformation and job creation.
