LUMENZI Member of Parliament Munir Zulu has been implored to accord the office of the Speaker of National Assembly with the respect it deserves and tone down attacks on her.

Mr Zulu on Friday wrote the Speaker of the National Assembly expressing disappointment in the manner in which he was on Wednesday ejected out of the House during debate.

Mr Zulu earlier appeared on one of the local television stations in which he is said to have issued disparaging remarks against the Speaker for sending him out of the house.

But Governance, Elections, Advocacy, and Research Services (GEARS) Initiative Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi has said some of the remarks by Mr Zulu border on contempt of Parliament to which the Lumezi lawmaker maybe censured according to the standing orders of the house.

Mr Chipenzi said it is important for members of Parliament to carry themselves according to their title of honourable and not engage themselves in ways that may bring the house and Speaker in disrepute.- Daily Nation
