Musokotwane makes progress on IMF bailout

MINISTER of Finance and National Planning Situmbeko Musokotwane says significant progress has been attained towards reaching the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout programme as Government continues to engage creditors.

Recently, Dr Musokotwane also said that the IMF programme has no bearing on the recruitment of teachers.

Dr Musokotwane told the House yesterday, in response to a question for oral answer by Kantanshi Member of Parliament (MP) Anthony Mwamba (PF), that Zambia is ambitious to see to it that issues are resolved soonest to consolidate Government’s plans to improve the economy.

Mr Mwamba wanted to know when Government’s negotiations with IMF will finish.
