Mutati can win ‘Africa cup of defectors’ – Ben Phiri
By Mubanga Mubanga
Former Luapula province Permanent Secretary Maj Ben Phiri says if the African cup of defectors in political parties could be held, Science and Technology minister Felix Mutati would win with a Gold medal.
Last week, Mutati said he did not respond to comedians, in reference to Major Phiri who accused him of being a ‘flamboyant defector’ who had been rewarded by President Hakainde Hichilema with a ministerial appointment while he had been left in the cold.
Reacting to Mutati’s statement, Maj Phiri stated that Mutati was a “perpetual political defector” who was in MMD, PF and now UPND.
“He calls me a comedian instead of responding to the issues I raised in my discourse which is further confirmation that Mutati is the top most unrepentant HPD (Habitual Political Defector). If we were to hold an Africa Cup of political defectors, Felix Mutati

Ba Ben, you are barking up the wrong tree. Mr. Mutati is not the appointing authority.
Why are people so desparate for jobs in the government? Is it because civil servants have it easy? Why can’t Ben find some other job or better still be self employed like most of us?
Ba Ben, get a life. You are beginning to irritate us (sorry, me).
This is a typical case of PHD…Pull him down.
Mr. Phiri thinks by removing Mutati he will be given a job. Sadly, Ba Phiri you have shown us what you are about. Its not about work. Its about status and if you know HH, he will expect you to perform. Remember the infighting at the Ministry of foriegn affairs that led to Ms Lemba being moved to Cabinet office? Where is the instigator of that fight?
Public service is about serving people. Stewardship. If you are not interested in serving and think its about “other issues”….forget mwana….as JMC has said….get a life. Clammering for jobs at your age sure? A sign that someone throughout their life thought they were entitled. No one owes you a life. No matter how much noise you make, you have the wrong perception and attitude about life.
