MWANAJITI CALLS FOR TRIAL OF DISMISSED CONCOURT

October 25, 2024

Political Analyst NG’ANDE MWANANJITI has called for a full trial of the three dismissed Constitutional Court judges, emphasizing that nobody is above the law.

Mr. MWANANJITI says a thorough trial will allow the Judiciary to cleanse itself and demonstrate that judges’ offices are not breeding grounds for injustice.

He says Judges represent justice and cannot betray this value.

Mr. MWANANJITI has called on relevant Law Enforcement Agencies to take action to  ensure Zambia’s democracy benefits from a fair and transparent judicial process.

  1. That kind of comment can only come from finished analyst. Same case tried 3 times thrown out, you want different results. That was not an exam for you to expect different outcome when you seat. Shame

  2. Mwanajiti wants this matter prosecuted. The employment of these Judges was prosecuted and they sought relief by way of a stay, which the very court Mwanajiti suggests they go to ruled jurisidiction.
Seems to me individuals have made a career creating a basis for them to make a living. In their activism they have never aimed to serve but create a basis for money to be earned.
I wish the three Judges “good riddence” as people forget that their is their appointment is to “serve” and not the “status” that they latch on to. I wish them the best as they leave the lofty perks that they have goudged off the Zambian public, I hope they reflect as much as the former DPP that we are all bound by some higher power. No matter how lowly a person is. They too have as much right to life as them.

  3. It seems to me that the Constitutional Court was under a lot of pressure from outside the courtroom in 2016. Who was exerting this pressure on the court? It’s important to establish this instead of wholesale condemnation of the judges. Unfortunately the Law Association of Zambia doesn’t seem to be interested in pursuing the matter to its logical conclusion. Retired judge Hilda Chibomba is best placed to help in this regard.
