MWEETWA’S TRIBAL REMARKS, CRIMINAL – SICHONE
OPPOSITON Citizen’s First Spokesperson, Frank Sichone, has described as criminal, utterances by Minister of Information and Media, Cornelius Mweetwa, indicating that the ruling party sponsored Chishimba Kambwili to brew tribalism in the country.
Sichone, whose party is a member of the newly formed opposition United Kwacha Alliance-UKA, says such revelations demand for the entire ruling legislature to resign and call for fresh elections.
He states that such revelations by a Government that claims to have come with clean hands is unfortunate, reaffirming in the maxim, One Zambia, One Nation.
Sichone remarks that Government should be concentrating on reducing the cost of living than attacking UKA, adding that following revelations of sabotage by the ruling party, the Alliance will strictly scrutinize any individual wanting to join.
But Mweetwa says he was misquoted and taken out of context regarding alleged collaboration between the United Party for National Development-UPND and Kambwili.
He clarified to the Media that his intention was to highlight the impact of Kambwili’s actions and tribal remarks, which unintentionally worked against the Patriotic Front.
