N’CWALA CONDOMS DISTRIBUTION CONDEMNED

By Womba Kasela

A Traditional Marriage Counselor Edwin Zulu has condemned the distribution of condoms at the N’cwala Traditional Ceremony of the Ngoni people of Eastern Province.

The N’cwala Ceremony which is celebrated every last Saturday of February was this year stocked with over 600 000 condoms to curb sexually transmitted diseases.

Zulu however states that the distribution of condoms is an indication that the government is in consent of sexual immorality in the country, despite being a Christian nation.

He further explains that traditional ceremonies should not be a hub of sexual immorality but rather promote and appreciate the country’s diverse cultures.

And Independent Churches of Zambia – ICOZ Executive Director Dr. Bishop David Masupa says the church will not relent to preach on sex before marriage because Zambia is a Christian nation.
