No more tantameni, Hichilema can’t give you money you haven’t worked for – UPND

UPND Lusaka chairperson Obvious Mwaliteta says the era of tantameni ended with the PF and norlmacy has been restored in the UPND administration.

Mwaliteta said President Hakainde Hichilema has transformed citizen’s mindsets and repackaged them with hardwork where no money can be given to an individual without them working for it.

The ruling party’s chairperson was responding to Zambia Must Prosper leader Kelvin Fube’s sentiments where he claimed that the President is not generous enough to give anyone money.

Mwaliteta stated that it was unwise for the opposition leader to utter such statements against President Hichilema.

“It is thinking in futility again for those in opposition to turn Zambia into a tantameni nation as our able leader His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema, the people’s choice has transformed the citizenry’s mindset and inculcated it with work, work and work.
The question is, why should someone be given money which he has not worked for in the name of political patronage?” He questioned.

“Normalcy has returned to Zambia as the rule of law has been restored and it is therefore prudent for our colleagues to appreciate the peace which they never gave us whilst in opposition instead of being distractors to national development.”

He also reminded those in the opposition who are trying to downgrade the UPND Alliance, that it is a formidable political group of purpose in uniting and developing the country.

Mwaliteta said Zambians have trust in the alliance which the UPND made with other progressive political parties prior to the August 2021 elections necessitating the landslide victory.

“Most of those making noise were once in our Alliance but got hoodwinked by kasaka ka ndalama deceiving them that we will never form government and today they are regretting for not persevering to the end hence their outbursts.”

“As the party in Lusaka, we wish to put it on record that, we are an all inclusive political organisation ready to embrace all those we share common values with in making Zambia better for all,” noted Mwaliteta.
