OASIS FORUM OFFERS TO MEDIATE DIALOGUE BETWEEN PRESIDENT HICHILEMA AND FORMER PRESIDENT EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU
A consortium of Church mother bodies and non-governmental organisations has offered to mediate the possible dialogue between President Hakainde Hichilema and his predecessor Edgar Lungu.
The collectively referred to as the Oasis Forum says it does not doubt that president Edgar Lungu as a Statesman will be more than glad to put the country first and reconcile with the Head of State over the real or perceived differences.
The forum has emphasized that both President Hichilema and President Lungu should put the country first ahead of all else.
The statement stressed that leaders in government and opposition, are duty-bound to take responsibility towards the need to unite the nation at all costs.
This is according to a statement signed by the Council of Churches in ZambiaFather Emmanuel Chikoya, Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia Executive Director Bishop Andrew Mwenda, Law Association of Zambia President Lungisani Zulu, Non-governmental Gender Organisations' Coordinating Councils Grace Sinkamba and the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops Secretary General Father Francis Mukosa.
During the commemoration of the 125 years of the Reformed Church in Zambia, President Hichilema committed that he would do his part to reach out to his colleagues in the opposition, including former President Lungu.

This is utterly madness and nonsense. Negotiate about what? These fools want HH to let Lungu’s family to get away with stolen public wealth! The answer is categorical NO. The stolen money does not belong to HH so how can give them the stolen wealth he doesn’t own?
Are they mad or sick? This is the problem with people that do not know what Governance is about? They will just create more problem for HH because that will be corruption in itself!!

What has President HH done or not done in relation to ECL that requires intervention in order for the two to reconcile?
What exactly is the reason for reconciliation?
They want to frustrate corruption fight. Let reconciliation wait till we r done with corruption fight, those who deserve to be in jail let them go to jail or have property fore feited to the state. After they r out of jail or have had their property taken by the state maybe reconciliation can take place.
Honestly speaking, there is nothing to mediate and dialogue about between HH and ECL. Contrary to people’s advice, ECL came back to active politics and joined UKA. So what’s there to discuss or dialogue between the two? There is no need, it will just be a waste of time. Already Nakachinda is saying that there will be no elections in 2026 without Lungu on the ballot. Do they need dialogue for that madness? That’s trying to turn irrelevance into relevance. NO.

Why do these people want dialogue? It should be ECL who should be the one to adk for dialogue with HH. it was ECL who ill treated HH whilst he was in power. Even now ECL is antagonising HH they should sit him down.
There is no need for dialogue or reconciliation whatsoever, ECL is the one at fault and he only needs to humbly apologize or give respect to the presidency.
Apart from that we need our money back as a nation,let him explain how all those gifts he gave his family came about.we are not interested in their personal differences we have a lot of things to attend to.
