DAVIES CHAMA CHARGE IS A BAILABLE ONE
CPC categorises this oftence bailable and only the below mentioned offences remain not bailable:
- Murder
- Aggrevated Robbery
- Defilement
- Treason
Therefore, the arrested Davies Chama and his co-accused will be free to apply for bail once they appear in the Sesheke Court, which appearence is supposed to be done within 48 hrs after formal arrest as provided for by the law.
Hope the insinuation of bribes to the police being peddled by some social media platforms to secure Davies Chama and his co-accused’s release are proven wrong.
Therefore, his release, if it will be done, will by the operation of the law and not the operation of the bribes to the police as being insinuated.
Let us give space to the police to follow the law as directed by the President that, if the case is bondable, police must give bond to the accused person and, if it is bailable, the court likewise should do the same regardless of party affiliations.
The rule of law knows no party affiliations and we must not use emotions, politics and tribe to deal with these cases but the provisions of law.
Otherwise, impunity and lawlessness in the name of politics must come to an end and no one should drag a tribe to defend him/herself.
No tribe can send an adult to trigger a gun on another person. This is a personal criminality.
Remember, it is not always that you will be with your parents to protect you from those you insult or insulted in the past with impunity. So your actions and conduct must be guided by personal responsibility
