OPPOSITION’S KATEKA IS OF THE VIEW UPND CREATED TOXIC ENVIRONMENT IN 12 MONTHS

New Heritage Party President, Chishala Kateka, has accused the United Party for National Development-UPND government of creating a toxic environment in their 12 months in power.

Kateka says the UPND has created a divisive atmosphere based on political and regional affiliation, which is driven by revenge and tribalism in resource allocation.

She also accuses government of been inhumane and uncaring, citing the removal of Mobile Money Booth Operators from some streets in Lusaka, as well as the demolishing of over 300 structures in Chingola’s Kasompe area.

Kateka also observes what she terms as a non-conducive business environment for mere Zambians, noting that very little money is in circulation, in addition to prohibitive lending terms even from government financial institutions.

She further accuses the UPND of supporting culturally and legally offensive practices, referencing the recently convened Lusaka July event, where homosexual tendencies were exhibited.

Kateka notes that organizers of the Lusaka July event are on record, when responding to criticism towards that occasion that they were supported by government.

She reminds the UPND that each regime is judged based on their legacy, noting that UNIP, among other things is remembered for humanism as well as political intolerance.

Katebe says the MMD regime was characterized by privatization, while the PF was famed political intolerance climaxed violent cadre behavior.
