PEOPLE DON’T HAVE MONEY
…the leader has thrown us away – chief Kaduku

CHIEF Kaduku of Mozambique has called on President Hakainde Hichilema to strongly work on the economy.
In interview, Kaduku said anything that affected Zambia affected Mozambique too because the two countries shared a lot in common.
“Nthawi ija ya cimemezo ca masankho yanali ndithu mau yonveka bwino ndipo yothandiza. Lomba taona kuti mbali yothandiza fuel yakwela kweni kweni, ndalamanso zavuta, ndalama banthu alibe ndithu. (During campaign period the message was very promising. But we have seen on the part of help, fuel has gone up, money has become a challenge and people don’t have money surely,” he said.
Kaduku said comparing to the promises made during campaigns, it seemed that the UPND government had neglected its people.
“In relation to the promises, we have seen that the leader has thrown us away. Transport is a challenge and motorists take advantage of fuel increase to hit us with high fares,” he said.
And Kaduku has called on both Zambians and Mozambican farmers to feed their families first before selling their produce.
He said one might have money but if there was no food to buy, they would starve.
“Secure enough food for the family. Don’t get too excited with money and forget the family. Food is very much important than money. Sell but reserve enough for your families. You might have money but if there is no food it’s a challenge than when you have food but you don’t have money,” Kaduku said.
Meanwhile, Kaduku expressed happiness that the Kulamba traditional ceremony of the Chewa people would take place this year.
The ceremony gathers Chewas from Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique, and is held at Mkaika in Katete.
