Pezeshkian Accuses Israel and US of Double Standards Over Nuclear Weapons and Sanctions
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused Israel and the United States of applying double standards over nuclear weapons, inspections and international sanctions during his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
Pezeshkian pointed to Israel’s alleged nuclear arsenal and argued that Iran faces international inspections and sanctions while Israel has not joined the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
He also criticized Israel’s military actions in Gaza, arguing that Israel receives extensive international support while Iran faces punishment and sanctions.
“The nuclear weapon is in Israel, but the inspectors are in Iran,” Pezeshkian said, calling for equal treatment under international law.
Pezeshkian’s remarks came as tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel remain high, with the Iranian president insisting that Tehran is open to diplomacy but will not accept negotiations under military pressure.
