COMMANDER II DENIED BAIL
….Court says convict has failed to avail special circumstances.
THE Economic and Financial Crimes Court (EFCC) at the High Court has refused to grant bail pending appeal to jailed businessman Francis Muchemwa, alias commander II.
The higher court has maintained the EFCC’s subordinate court’s earlier decision not to grant bail pending appeal to Muchemwa.
High Court Judge Pixie Yangailo and two others ruled that the convict failed to avail special circumstances for him to be granted bail.
‘We cannot exercise our discretion to admit the applicant to bail pending appeal as no special circumstances have been disclosed,” judges Yanagailo, Ian Mabbolobbolo and Ann Malata-Ononuju ruled.
