PF ELECTED MPs ISSUE WARNING TO CHANCERS WANTING TO TAKE OVER PARTY LEADERSHIP
By Chileshe Mwango
Patriotic Front -PF- elected Members of Parliament have warned that they will not allow any chancers to take over the leadership of the former ruling party at the extra-ordinary conference to be held in June next year.
And the Members of Parliament have clarified that the conference will be solely held to elect the president and that all aspiring party presidential candidates will be thoroughly scrutinized.
Speaking at a media briefing, Party Chief Whip Stephen Kampyongo also expressed concern at what he termed as disgruntled elements that have characterized the party stating that the MPs will not allow such elements to continue.
And the lawmakers have pledged loyalty to incumbent party president Edgar Lungu and have since advised all other members to respect the former head of state.
Speaking on behalf of other MPs, Lupososhi Member of Parliament Musonda Mpakata said it is disappointing that some people are targeting disparaging remarks at president Lungu.
The MPs have since advised acting party secretary general to discipline the said members.
