PF HAS NO LEADERS-WINTER KABIMBA
By: Zambia Daily mail
ECONOMIC Front leader Wynter Kabimba has said the Patriotic Front (PF) has no structures because of the leadership crisis which should not be attributed to government interference.
According to Mr Kabimba, the former ruling party is almost leaderless and has no structures.
“PF has no structures. What it has is a goodwill from those that were in the structures in the past. You can only talk about structures if you have registers.
“What we did during my time when I was secretary general, we had registers for every district, every constituency and every province.
“What I have been told is that during the Davies Mwila era, there were no registers that were put in place.
“So, the political fellowship of the party started falling apart because there was nobody to galvanise those organs. The party degenerated into violence within and outside the party and hooliganism,” he said.
Speaking on Diamond Television on Sunday, the opposition leader said to accuse anybody that the gradual disintegration of PF is because of an outside force is self-destruction.
“I was probably one who was telling them the truth. I spoke about tribalism in the party, I spoke against corruption in the party. Was I wrong? No!”
“I hear them now saying that they want to go to the general conference. The question that I ask myself is, ‘Who is in possession of those registers?
“Does Given Lubinda have his own registers? Makabi Zulu his own registers? Brian Mundubile his own registers? And if that is the case, which register is valid and which one is invalid? And at what time do you harmonise all these registers and determine the electoral college of that general conference?” he wondered.
He further said nothing will come out of Tonse and People’s Pact alliances because everyone wants to lead.
Former PF secretary general Davies Mwila and acting faction president Given Lubinda could not be reached for comment by press time.
