The Lusaka High Court has dismissed a matter in which the Patriotic Front (PF) sued the state claiming damages over alleged intimidation and harassment of its member over the source of the party’s campaign funding in the 2021 general elections.
High Court Judge, Charles Kafunda, says the claims by PF Acting Secretary General Nickson Chilangwa are incompetent and unsustainable.
Judge Kafunda also says the petition by Mr. Chilangwa has been brought before court under a wrong originating process.
In this matter, Mr. Chilangwa in his capacity as acting PF Secretary General, was seeking a declaration that his party could not be compelled to disclose its source of funds used in the August 2021 general elections as well as a declaration that the funding of the 2021 general elections is not money laundering.- Diamond TV
