PF MPS WALK OUT OF PARLIAMENT OVER SPEAKERS’ RULING ON DEFENSE FORCES AUDIT

By Rhodah Kesia Mvula

Patriotic Front Members of Parliament have walked out of the house after Speaker of the National Assembly, Nelly Mutti told them to go to court if they are not clear on government’s response on the awarding of a contract to a private trans-national accounting firm to audit defense forces.

This was after Lunte Member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya rose during the Vice President Question time to ask about the contract awarded to the private firm.

Ms. Mutti said Finance Minister, Situmbeko Musokotwane was clear on the matter on Thursday, and members of the house were given enough time to ask all the questions.

And Ms. Mutti says no sitting allowances will be paid to parliamentarians who walk out of the house, because they are wasting tax payers’ money.
