POLICE ARREST JOURNALIST THOMAS ZGAMBO
Police in Lusaka this evening arrested investigative journalist and chief consultant of the Zambian Whistleblower Thomas Allan Zgambo for undisclosed reasons.
Zgambo was picked from Lewanika Mall while he was having a meal and bundled into a police van.
He is currently detained at Ridgeway police post and will spend the night there.
And a police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that the journalist has been arrested for alleged criminal libel.
“Ati (That) he published an article on the Zambian Whistleblower criticising ba (Mr) Nevers Mumba as well as the President’s legal advisor Mr Christopher Mundia. That was a few days ago. So, officers from Force Headquarters trailed him and picked him up from Lewanika Mall where he was eating. They dumped him here (at Ridgeway police post) and left,” explained the police officer.- The Mast
