POLICE CLARIFY VIRAL CLAIM THAT 3-YEAR-OLD WAS REMOVED FROM FLORIDA SOCCER GAME FOR BEING “TOO GOOD”

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Winter Park Police say the 3-year-old at the center of a viral video was not escorted off a youth soccer field for his skill level, but after a disturbance involving his parents and league officials.

The incident happened at around 9:50 a.m. on Saturday, October 25 at Martin Luther King Jr. Park during an i9 Sports league game, police records show.

A 911 call obtained by the New York Post shows it was league director Thomas Hayes who called police, not opposing parents.

“There is a parent here that’s really, really disruptive,” Hayes told the dispatcher. “Like following me around, calling me names in front of the whole bunch of people that are here. I want to be done.”

Hayes described the parent as a Black woman in a pink outfit and asked officers to come quickly.

In body-camera footage and the police event report, Hayes gave a different account than the family’s claim that the child, identified as Nevada, was banned for dominating play against 5-year-olds.

Hayes acknowledged to officers: “The kid is very good… He’s great. Really good,” and said Nevada was “really advanced compared to the other ones” and had been scoring heavily.

But he said the issue was physical play and parental conduct.

He alleged Nevada had been pushing other players and that he had previously removed Nevada and other players from a game for pushing.

He claimed the family “created a big scene, arguing with other parents” when referees were told to call the pushing.

Nevada’s parents disputed that.

His mother told police they purposely stand on the opposite side of the field from other parents to avoid disruption.

On the family’s TikTok video @nevadaney10, his father is heard saying: “They called the police on a 3-year-old because he’s too good,” while his mother says: “They’re literally kicking him out of this place because he’s good at soccer.”

According to the police report, officers told the family that Nevada would no longer be allowed to play in the league “due to their behavior” and that a refund would be a civil matter to be handled later by the league office.

The family said they were later refunded for the fall 2026 registration.

Two officers responded at 10 a.m., spoke to both sides, and escorted the family off the field after the league issued a trespass notice.

No arrests were made and no one was charged.

The Winter Park Police Department has not accused the child of any wrongdoing. The dispute was classified as a disturbance / trespass warning, not an action against the 3-year-old for his soccer ability.
