POLICE STATEMENT: REFUTING FALSE REPORTS ON POLICE OPERATIONS IN LUNDAZI AND LUMEZI
The Zambia Police Service wishes to categorically refute the false reports circulating on various media platforms alleging that police officers have been searching for the Former President, His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu, at the farms of Dr. Martin Mtonga and Hon. Munir Zulu in Lundazi and Lumezi, respectively.
Additionally, we wish to dismiss the rumors suggesting that police sealed off Kanele and other places in Lundazi in search of the Former President.
As a professional law enforcement agency, we conduct all our operations with the utmost integrity, transparency, and adherence to the law. We wish to inform the public that these reports are entirely baseless and fabricated to mislead the nation. At no point have police officers been dispatched to search for the Former President at any of the mentioned locations, and we have not sealed off any areas in Lundazi.
We wish to further clarify that His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu is currently in Lusaka, and the Zambia Police Service is fully aware of his whereabouts. We appeal to members of the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified and misleading information that may cause unnecessary panic and confusion.
We urge the public to rely on official communication from the Zambia Police Service for accurate and credible information regarding any police activities. We remain committed to maintaining peace, law, and order in our nation.
