POLICE WARNS CADRES TO DESIST FROM BEING INVOLVED IN VIOLENT BEHAVIOR AT POLICE STATIONS

Police statement:

26th October, 2021 -The Zambia Police Service is concerned with the emerging trend of political cadres who have in the recent past committed criminal acts at police infrastructures on the Copperbelt.

We wish to inform the public that naming of Police Stations or Posts involve a consultative process with the community and local authorities in some instances. Equally, those who may have concerns on the names of certain police formations should follow the laid down procedures unlike taking the law into their own hands.

Police stations are places of security and demand high levels of tranquility and respect from all.

As Zambia Police Service, we would like to strongly warn all political cadres to desist from being involved in violent behavior or acts of lawlessness at our police stations. All those who will be found wanting will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.
