PRESIDENT HICHILEMA A GREAT DEFENDER OF DEMOCRACY

President Hakainde Hichilema has indeed demonstrated that he is a great defender of Democracy and Human Rights as evidenced by the ever expanding democratic space in Zambia and the recently won seat at UN Human Rights Council.
It’s also worth noting that democracy thrives on the rule of law, and does not mean suspending security agencies’ mandate to maintain law and order as the Republican President’s usual critics purport.
Further, President Hichilema has not only abolished criminal defamation of the President law, tolerant to divergent views, promotes citizens’ freedom of speech, but also enhanced women, the youth and persons living with various disabilities’ participation in decision making at both national and local government levels.
In view of these facts, we advise citizens to exercise their freedoms, including the freedom of speech and opinion with due respect for other people’s rights with utmost sense of responsibility.
All in all, Zambia is indeed in safe hands, as the Republican President Mr Hakainde Hichilema’s governance is anchored on the rule of law and respect for the tenets of democracy.
