President Hichilema and his running mate W.K Muntale Nalumango have officially been sworn in as President  and vice President of the Republic of Zambia for the 2026–2031 term respectively

President Hakainde Hichilema and Vice-President Mutale WK Nalumango have both taken the oath of office, officially beginning their second term in office.

The swearing-in took place at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka, before thousands of Zambians, visiting Heads of State and other international dignitaries.

The ceremony was marked by a ceremonial gun salute and aircraft flypast over National Heroes Stadium, as President Hichilema formally assumed his second mandate following Zambia’s 13 August 2026 General Election.
