Nalumango was elected alongside the President it’s important that she serves her role
President Hakainde Hichilema will not attend the United Nations General Assembly Heads of State and Government gathering at the UN Headquarters in New York on 22-23 September 2024.
It’s an established practice where the President will not attend a high-level meeting, the Vice President is delegated to attend.
But in in his case, President Hichilema rarely delegates the Vice President, W.K. Mutale Nalumango, to represent him.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations is leading the delegation. Haimbe led a similar delegation to the SADC Summit.
Ba Kateka, the Vice-President is elected by the people of Zambia unlike in the past where the Vice President was merely appointed by the President, and it is therefore important that she truly utilises the ranking and position of Vice-President
Mwamba is always looking for, fishing for a weakness. Having found none, he will launder a false narrative that implies weakness.
Different leaders have different styles of leadership. The Zambian Constitution does not dictate any one particular style of leadership. The fact that our vice president was elected does not indicate or mean that she should have her own distinct road map – she works under the leadership of HH. She is happy and has never complained.

It seems Mr. Mwamba has nothing to do in life because he seem to have too much time on his hands for him to be keeping tabs on every little thing that supposedly happen in government. Does he know the work schedule of the vice president for him to make such a comment? Does he think the vice president can only be considered working if she goes outside the country? What kind of logic is that? Does this man know that the secretary of state in USA makes more international trips than the president snd vice president?
It seems Mr. Mwamba has nothing to do in life because he seem to have too much time on his hands for him to be keeping tabs on every little thing that supposedly happen in government. I like HH and most of the stuff he is doing. But on this one Mwamba is right. Even if the madam may not be a competent and conversant person on some issues, we always have aides to propound topics who would assist her to tag along in meetings. HH needs to respect the lady. How will Haimbe and team respect the VP if President doesn’t????
