PROTESTS OVER THE COST OF LIVING CONTINUE ACROSS EUROPE

Demonstrations over the rising cost of living and economic pressures are continuing in several European countries, including France, Spain, Italy, Belgium and Portugal.

Protesters have raised concerns about the affordability of everyday essentials, including food, housing, energy and other basic necessities, as economic pressures continue to affect households.

🌍 CONCERNS OVER FOREIGN INTERVENTION AND THE LEGACY OF LIBYA

Some observers have drawn comparisons between today’s protests and the events that unfolded in Libya in 2011, when an uprising against Muammar Gaddafi’s government escalated into an armed conflict and NATO launched a military intervention.

The Libyan experience remains controversial, with debates continuing over the consequences of foreign intervention, the collapse of state institutions and the country’s prolonged instability.

Critics of Western foreign policy warn that domestic unrest can sometimes be exploited by external powers to advance their strategic interests. However, there is no established evidence that the current cost-of-living protests across Europe are part of a coordinated plan to prepare for military interventions in other countries.

The demonstrations reflect domestic economic and political grievances, while the comparison with Libya represents a broader concern about foreign intervention and its consequences.
