Putin Delivers Iran’s Position on Ending the War to Trump as Russia Seeks Diplomatic Role
Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly conveyed Iran’s position on ending the war with the United States to President Donald Trump, positioning Moscow as a potential intermediary in efforts to resolve the conflict.
According to reports, the move followed a meeting between Putin and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of a regional summit in Turkmenistan.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin had coordinated with Pezeshkian before communicating Tehran’s position to Washington.
However, the Kremlin has not publicly disclosed the specific conditions Iran has proposed for ending the war, and details of Trump’s response remain unclear.
Russia’s involvement could open another diplomatic channel between Washington and Tehran, particularly as the conflict continues to raise concerns about regional security, energy supplies and global economic stability.
Moscow maintains relations with both Tehran and Washington, although its close partnership with Iran could raise questions about its ability to act as a neutral mediator.
It remains unclear whether Putin’s intervention will lead to direct negotiations or produce a breakthrough toward a ceasefire. For now, the development represents a potential diplomatic opening, but no agreement has been announced.
